Over 150 years old, the Hotel was built at a time when it was fashionable to bathe in Foz. From the mid 19th century onwards many of the mansions which can still be seen in Foz were built, and the local atmosphere of the time was extensively portrayed by writers and artists of several generations.

Today, it is a hotel which offers every modern comfort while preserving the familiar, welcoming environment for which it has always been known.
